Raising three kids is already a challenging undertaking. There’s not a lot of time off, you’re constantly putting out ‘fires’, you’re never technically off the clock, and you don’t get nearly enough sleep. It might seem overly ambitious to start a business while already having three kids, but it also makes perfect sense. Mompreneurs forgo sleep, work crazy hours, and build their businesses with love and care – just like they do with their kids. Mompreneurs are some of the most passionate and dedicated entrepreneurs.

Meet Jeanne Fiocca. The Hatch team first met Jeanne at a pitch event and found out she had way more questions than she had answers. She was building a business while raising three kids and didn’t have the time to search the internet for the right answers to her questions. Cookie Text, Jeanne’s business, had a decent following, but just wasn’t growing the way she needed it to. She joined 1000 Four and finally found the answers she needed.

She spruced up her site and her social with the better pictures and starting getting more traction from potential customers. As she got new customers to her site, she needed ways to keep in touch with her potential customers and previous customers who might buy again. After a while of using email marketing to re-engage with potential and previous customers Jeanne spent some time with the Facebook Ads workshop to learn Facebook Ad strategies from some of the most experienced advertisers out there and started reeling in even more Cookie Text customers.

The business was growing fast for Jeanne, even while she was keeping up with raising her 3 boys. When Cookie Text demanded more and more time of Jeanne, the time she had to commit wasn’t growing. She needed help and had to hire her first employee. Luckily for Jeanne, 1000 Four had her back. There was a recorded workshop on exactly that subject waiting for her that broke down the hiring process and the pros and cons. She hopped into some 1000 Four open office hours and was able to chat with other entrepreneurs who had been there and done that. Jeanne went on to hire her first employee and now has 6 employees and for the first time was able to take a trip and leave the business in the hands of employees who she trained and trusted.

A few years ago, I was invited to sit in on a meeting to discuss how to best help our local economy. Someone in the group mentioned that if the region could just bring in 4 companies with 1000 employees each everything should be great. That didn’t sit well with me. I knew there had to be a better way. I was already helping local entrepreneurs grow their businesses at Hatch, but that comment changed my mindset. I realized that growing 1000 companies to four employees big wouldn’t be as good as their strategy. It would be better. Growing 1000 companies with four employees would be more diverse, more nimble, more grassroots, and more local.
